When Diabetes Develop into Diabetic Kidney Disease

When does diabetes develop into diabetic kidney disease? How diabetes affect kidney? The most typical characteristic of diabetes is that there is high blood sugar, which firstly influences all the blood vessels especially the micro-blood vessels, which can influence the micro-blood vessels in kidney as well. If it lasts for a long time, the kidneys can't filter out toxins as well if they're damaged.
Although kidney at the beginning has increased filtrating rate for a while, the presence of glucose increases the amount of filtrates passing through the functional units of the kidneys, which lead to more protein being filtered across the glomerular membranes. This is followed by the appearance of small amounts of protein in the urine. In turn, the protein which filtered out of body damages the membranes leading to increasing losses of protein in the urine and more damage to the kidneys.
On the other hand, the increased tendency to atherosclerosis in diabetes also lead to damage in kidney. There is an increased level of blood fats with deposits in the walls of the blood vessels. Where this affects the blood supply to the kidneys, the diminished blood flow can also damage the kidneys.
The above mentioned tells us when diabetes develops into diabetic kidney disease or how diabetes affect kidney.

Long-time diabetes can cause various complications and one of them is kidney disease. The pathological mechanism goes as follows:
When our bodies metabolize the protein we take in, the process creates waste products. In the kidneys, millions of tiny blood vessels (capillaries) with even tinier holes in them act as filters. As blood flows through the blood vessels, small molecules such as waste products squeeze through the holes. These waste products become part of the urine. Useful substances, such as protein and red blood cells, are too big to pass through the holes in the filter and stay in the blood.
Diabetes can damage this system. High levels of blood sugar make the kidneys filter too much blood. All this extra work is hard on the filters. After many years, they start to leak and useful protein is lost in the urine. Having small amounts of protein in the urine is called microalbuminuria.
When kidney disease is diagnosed in early stage, (during microalbuminuria), several treatments may keep kidney disease from getting worse. Having larger amounts of protein in the urine is called macroalbuminuria. When kidney disease is caught later (during macroalbuminuria), end-stage renal disease, or ESRD, usually follows. This is how diabetes develops into kidney disease even kidney failure.
During diabetic nephropathy, the main damaged part of kidney is glomerular basilar membrane, which indicates us that we should repair the damaged renal glomerular membrane. This is the critical and core therapy which can stop diabetes developing into renal failure.
On the basis of this, our Hospital created Chinese Medicine, which is abstracted from natural herbs and can promote the blood circulation, improve the micro-blood circulation, relieve the insufficiency of blood and oxygen in the kidney blood vessels, thus creating a favorable for the repair of the damaged cells in the kidney. After this, the active materials will take effect in supplying nutrition for the damaged cells, thus reviving kidney function and preventing diabetes from kidney disease and kidney failure.
