Prevention of Progression in Diabetic Nephropathy

Once diagnosed with Diabetic Nephropathy, people want to prevent it from progression. To achieve this, we can do as follows:
1. Diabetic Nephropathy is a secondary kidney disease which develops from long time diabetes, which is characterized by high blood sugar in the body. The high blood sugar also damages the kidney in turn, thus causing diabetic nephropathy and other complications eventually. So patients should control blood sugar as well as blood pressure and blood fat so as to prevent progression.
2. Once patients have micro-albumin in urine, patients should take in hypotensor such as ACEI or ARB to relieve the pressure in the renal glomerular capillaries so as to reduce protein in urine.
3. Diabetic Nephropathy patients should also prevent other factors which worsen kidney disease such as avoiding infection, insufficiency of oxygen, and so on.
4. Diabetic Nephropathy patients should also forbid medicine or food which does harm to the kidney.
5. In addition, developing a good life style is also important. For example, stop drinking and smoking, both of them will do harm to the kidney. Report from England said that a doctor analyzed 1239 type 2 diabetes aging from 55 to 81. The investigation lasts for five years and a half. The researchers find out that compared with those who do not take in alcohol or wine, patients who take in alcohol or wine every week have declined eyesight. The heat in alcohol is obviously higher than that of other food, which may lead to the fluctuating of blood sugar, thus accelerating the disorder of sugar metabolism.
6. Timely treatment is also important for patients with Diabetic Nephropathy. Till now, stem cell is widely believed to be the best treatment for stem cell, which can differentiate into beta cells, thus reviving insulin secretion in pancrease and preventing the progression of diabetic nephropathy.
