Proteinuria in Nephrotic Syndrome and Immunity

Is proteinuria in Nephrotic Syndrome related to immunity? It is proved that the form of protein in urine is related to immune response. Their deposition on mesangial area can also lead to damage and activity of mesangial cells, make them relieve more growing factors, thus causing proliferation of mesangical cells, thus causing protein in urine, as well.
