After a successful kidney transplant, would still have kidney disease? This
is a question which is put forward by some patients. As a matter of fact, in
many cases, kidney disease will still recur several years later. For example,
diabetic nephropathy is a kind of secondary kidney disease which is caused by
long time high blood sugar in the blood and immune disorder in the body. So
after transplant, if these factors can not be controlled well, patients will
still have possibility of getting kidney disease.
What shall we do then? The fundamental problem is that we should treat kidney
disease and only in this way, can we avoid the new damage in the transplanted
kidney and avoid another kidney transplant. How to treat then?
As we know, most kidney diseases are caused by immune disorder. So our focus
should be aimed at adjusting the unbalanced immune system, thus increasing
immune ability. On the basis of this, in our Hospital, doctors and experts
created immunotherapy, which is the combination of both Chinese Medicine and
western medicine and can be divided into six steps: immune diagnosis, immune
clearance, immune inhibition, immune tolerance, immune adjustment and immune
protection.
Through immune diagnosis, we can know where the immune complex deposits
exactly and the exact type of immune response so that doctors can get more
scientific diagnosis and arrange better treatment. Through immune clearance, we
can clear away the immune complex in the blood, which can supply a cleaner inner
environment for the treatment of kidney disease. The third one is immune
inhibition. There is immune complex deposit onto kidney, which leads to immune
response. In this case, we use medicine which can stop the excessive immune
response, thus stopping the inflammation response at a rapid speed.
After that, patients will come into immune tolerance and immune adjustment
stage. In adjustment stage in particular, many effective medicines are used such
as Chinese Medicine, which is used to clear away the immune complex which
deposits onto kidney, which is very critical. In the last step, stem cell
therapy is also applied, which is used to repair damaged intrinsic cells,
differentiate into necrotic cells and increase the immune ability at the same
time.
From the above, we can know that after these steps, the transplanted kidney
can avoid getting damaged, thus preventing from kidney disease once more.
