What Can I Do to Prevent Kidney Failure

What can patients do to prevent kidney failure? This is a question which is put forward by patients who are diagnosed with kidney disease which is not into serious stage. In china, it can be called compensatory stage. In this stage, serum creatinine is still normal. But GFR(glomerular filtration rate) declined. Patients even have no symptoms or feel any discomfort. They find out it maybe because they take an examination by chance.
Renal failure(Kidney Failure) can be divided into acute renal failure and chronic renal failure. Acute renal failure (Kidney Failure) develops rapidly, which is often due to the insufficiency of blood flow in kidney such as wound and so on. Chronic renal failure is often due to long time kidney lesion. With time going by, kidney function begins to decline and renal failure may take place. How to prevent kidney failure(renal failure)?
Firstly, if kidney failure(renal failure) is due to insufficient supply of blood or due to bleeding, patients are required to have more body fluid and water. If kidney failure(renal failure) is due to infection, patients should deal with infection first.
Secondly, kidney failure(renal failure) patients should control the intake of food. Kidney disease leads more toxin to accumulate into the body. Renal function is damaged, which means the more patients eat, the more toxins will accumulate into the body for food have metabolism and produce nitrogen waste especially some bean products. If diet is not under control, it will worsen the kidney damage and give kidney more burden.
Thirdly, kidney failure(renal failure) patients should control the amount of water intake. Since kidney function is damaged, it can not discharge water normally. If water intake is not reduced, kidney will suffer from more burden.
Fourthly, kidney failure(renal failure) patients should control the intake of sodium. Salt contains much sodium. If kidney failure(renal failure) patients take in more sodium, water retention will take place, which may even lead to the heart function failure and lung function failure. In addition, it may worsen the renal failure.
