Can CKD Cause Back Pain

Can CKD cause back pain? Yes. CKD(Chronic Kidney Disease) can not only influence the renal function, but also leads to the chain reaction in many other part such as back. Back has close relationship with kidney. Many patients with CKD(Chronic Kidney Disease)has different degree of pain. And generally, pain which is caused by kidney disease can be divided into the following kinds.
The first kind is swelling kidney caused by renal parenchyma. It is usually caused by acute renal glomerular nephrtis, progressive nephritis, and so on. The swelled kidney stretches renal capsule, which can lead to continuous dull pain or distendingpain. Some of patients can also have gross hematuria, edema, high blood pressure and so on.
The second kind is infectious kidney disease. It is often seen in nephrapostasis, acute pyelonephritis, which is always due to infections of bacteria. Pain usually takes place in one side of the kidney, which will be more serious if pressed. In addition, infectious kidney disease can also be accompanied by fever, chill. It can be diagnosed by test of blood or urine.
The third kind of pain is caused by renal cyst. With the cysts growing in or outside of the kidney, their size will become bigger and bigger, which will press or squeeze the renal tissues or other normal cells which is located around the cyst. What’s more, some cysts inside the kidney can also grow to renal capsule, stretch kidney capsules, which leads to the continuous bursting pain or dull pain. Cysts in the kidney can be diagnosed by B ultrasound or CT.
The fourth kind of pain is caused by kidney stone. It can be intermittent, which spreads to the perineum. It is sometimes together with vomiting, nausea, and even gross hematuria when it is serious.
The last kind of pain is caused by Diabetic Nephropathy. Pain can be caused by nerve invasion. At the end stage of kidney disease, the adjustment function of kidney is damaged. So in clinic, continuous pain in back comes into being.
Back pain is a common symptom in CKD(chronic kidney disease) patients in clinic. If patients still have other symptoms such as hematuria, proteinuria, edema or high blood pressure, they should have an examination on urine or blood test to make a diagnosis whether patients are suffering from CKD. Once diagnosed with CKD, patients should receive treatment as soon as possible.

Can I Live Long with CKD Stage 3?

Half a year ago, I was diagnosed with CKD stage 3. Then, I took treatment in local hospital. The medicine I use was such as prednisone, immunosuppressive agent and so on. The treatment at that time was successful. My serum creatinine decreased from 300 to 235umol/L. I could not feel any discomfort. However, recently, after a flu and fatigue from work, I had protein in urine, which makes me scared. I am concerned whether chronic kidney disease can be treated well and how long can I live?
Dear sir, firstly, please do not worry. From what you describe, after the treatment, kidney disease recurs, which leads to your anxiety. What I want to say first is that as long as we receive proper treatment, kidney disease will not recur.
Secondly, I would like to recommend you an effective therapy: immunotherapy in our Hospital. As we mentioned in the previous articles, most kidney diseases are caused by immune problem. Immunotherapy can adjust the immune system and help chronic kidney disease stage 3 patients recover fundamentally. In stage 3, the GFR decreased obviously, and there has been more immune complex deposition on the kidney for the excessive immune reaction has happened about at least several months ago.
In this case, firstly, before immune adjustment, we should have an immune diagnosis, in which case, we can figure out where exactly the immune complex deposits and the accurate amount of it, which supplies valuable evidence for the treatment of the doctors. Next, chronic kidney disease patients stage 3 will receive immune clearance, which can help clear away the immune complex in the blood and create a good treatment environment for the immunotherapy.
When stage 3 chronic kidney disease patients come to immune adjustment stage, many Chinese medicine and western medicine are applied such as Chinese Medicine and stem cell therapy. It is more advanced that the immune therapy in western medicine for it can repair the damaged intrinsic cells, differentiate into those which have been necrotic, rebuild renal function and increase the immune ability, thus treating stage 3 chronic kidney disease fundamentally.

CKD Stage 2 Is the Best Time for the Treatment

According to GFR, chronic kidney disease can be divided into 5 stages. In stage2, GFR(glomerular filtration rate)declines to 60-89 ml/min. The normal range is 80 to 120 ml/min. Younger men has higher GFR than old people. Serum creatinine is 133-177umol/L. The normal range is 44 to 103 umol/L.
In the early stage of chronic kidney disease especially stage 1 and stage 2, there is nearly no symptom in clinic for kidney has a strong compensation ability. In China, some people think kidney is dumb. People usually do not pay attention to it. However, once serum creatinine rises, it indicates that the damage in the kidney is more than half. If we do not treat it timely, kidney will become atrophic for there are damaged intrinsic cells in the kidney. Of course, the earlier, the better.
Here, we’d like to introduce several methods to help discover chronic kidney disease early.
1. Test urine twice a year. If there is something wrong in the kidney, serum creatinine, urea acid will rise. Blood or protein will appear in urine when the renal glomerular membrane is damaged.
2. People with PKD, high blood pressure, diabetes or whose parents have such diseases should beware for they are hereditary.
3. In stage 2 of chronic kidney disease, people may have a little pain in back, feel fatigue and increased urine at night.
If we have found that we have come into stage 2, we should treat it timely and effectively. In our Hospital, we have immunotherapy for most kidney diseases are caused by immune problem. Immunotherapy can be divided into 6 steps such as immune diagnosis, immune clearance, immune inhibition, immune tolerance, immune adjustment and immune protection. In this passage, we mainly introduce the immune adjustment and immune protection, which are the core treatment in our kidney disease hospital.
After immune diagnose and immune clearance, we can exactly know the type of kidney disease, the amount of the immune complex and the area of immune complex and clear away the toxins in the blood, including immune complex.
Then, Chinese Medicine is applied. Chinese Medicine is a natural herbal therapy applied externally on acupoint of lower back. Herbal bags containing dozens of herbal medicines are soaked previously in penetrants, and then placed on the lower back part. With the help of osmosis device, effective ingredients of herbal medicines will infiltrate into kidneys through the main channels. After the application of Chinese Medicine, people with kidney failure may sweat in the center of palm and feet, which indicates that the micro-circulation is improved. In detail, it can repair the damaged intrinsic cells after it is into the body for it contains natural herbs and active substances.
At last, stem cell is applied if there are too many damaged cells and even some necrotic cell in stage 2 chronic kidney disease for stem cell can not only repair but also differentiate. Stem cell is especially good for diseases such as lupus nephritis, purpura nephritis, etc.

Management of chronic kidney disease stage 2

Stage 2 chronic kidney disease is easy to recover for kidney is still in compensation stage. As long as we take effective treatment measures and have a good management to assist the treatment, the effect will be good. How to manage? It goes as follows:
1. Do blood test and urine test to monitor the protein in urine, serum creatinine level, etc. In addition, ECT test is also necessary which can tell us the GFR, which reflects how kidney functions and is short for glomerular filtration rate.
2. Keep a healthy diet is also necessary.
§ Limit intake of refined and processed foods high in sugar and sodium
§ Choose and prepare foods with less salt or high sodium ingredients
§ Keep protein intake within the Daily Reference Intake (DRI) level recommended for healthy people
§ Consum the DRI for vitamins and minerals
§ Potassium and phosphorus are usually not restricted unless blood levels are above normal
3. Keep stage 2 chronic kidney disease patients’ blood pressure at a healthy level
a) 125/75 for those with diabetes
b) 130/85 for non-diabetes and non-proteinuria
c) 125/75 for non-diabetes with proteinuria
4. Stop drinking alcohol and smoking. Long time drinking wine or alcohol can lead to anemia, and the disorder of blood cells. Kinds of bleeding are due to the bad absorption of stomach and guts, which also lead to low use ratio of vitamin. In addition, the increased discharge of vitamin can lead to hyperlipidaemia.
5. Stop coffee. Long time drinking coffee can make patients with stage 2 kidney disease have kidney stone, which can increase the burden of the kidney. The elements in coffee can increase the amount of calcium in the urine, which is the main reason why patients have kidney stone.

What is Renal Insufficiency

Renal Insufficiency is caused by many reasons. The renal glomeruli are damaged seriously, which leads to the disorder of electrolyte, acid-base balance. Renal insufficiency can be divided into acute renal insufficiency and chronic renal insufficiency. The prognosis is not good and threatens people’ s life.
The pathogenesis of renal insufficiency
Firstly, renal insufficiency can be caused by kidney disease such as acute kidney failure, chronic kidney failure, pyelonephritis, nephrotuberculosis, renal tubules degeneration caused by chemical toxicant and biological poisons, etc.
Secondly, renal insufficiency can also be caused by barrier in the whole blood circulation such as shock, heart failure, high blood pressure, etc.
Renal insufficiency can be divided into 4 stages.
The third stage is called compensation stage. Because kidney has a strong ability of compensation, symptoms will not occur. Even though some renal glomeruli are damaged, other remained renal glomeruli can still work and do more work to take place those which are damaged. The ability of secretion and electrolyte balance can also meet the need. So in clinic, there is no symptom. In renal function test, we can find out that some index can be in normal range and can be a little high.
In the second stage, we call it renal insufficiency stage. Many glomeruli are damaged in this stage, which account for 60% to 75%. Kidney has difficulties in discharging metabolism. Serum creatinine and BUN (blood urea nitrogen) will become slightly high. Patients can suffer from anemia, fatigue, decreased body weight, and can not concentrate well. All of them can be ignored easily. However, if patients loose water in the body, or suffer from infection, bleeding, etc, their symptoms will appear obviously.
In the third stage, it is called renal failure stage. The damage in the kidney has become rather serious, accounting for 75% to 95%. The inner environment can not maintain stable. In addition, patients will get tired easily and will feel fatigue, and can not concentrate, etc. Anemia is not serious as well. Urine at night becomes more. What’s more, serum creatinine increases. BUN increases as well. Patients can also be accompanied by acidosis. So this stage can also be called azotemia.
In the fourth stage, patients with renal insufficiency develop into advanced stage kidney disease or uremia stage. In this stage, damage of renal glomeruli spreads to 95%. Patients have serious clinical symptoms such as nausea, vomiting, little urine, edema, high blood pressure, serious edema and anemia, itch in skin, and so on.

Four Stages of Renal Insufficiency in China

In China, we definite the stages of renal insufficiency mainly according to the level of serum creatine. The four stages are mainly as follows: compensation stage, discompensation stage, early stage of renal failure, end stage of renal failure.
In the first stage: compensation stage, there is nearly no symptom in clinic for the kidney has a strong ability of compensation. When some of the renal intrinsic cells are damaged, others will do more work such as filtrating blood, which make serum creatinine is133~177umol/L. In this stage, kidney can still function and work well, so we call it compensation stage. We should pay attention however that there has been damage in the kidney and the GFR has decreased. Kidney can still discharge metabolism product, balance of electrolyte, and so on.
The second stage is discompensation stage. In this stage, serum creatinine is 177~443umol/L. The damaged renal glomerulus increases, which accounts for about 60% to 75%. The secretion function has been damaged, blood urea acid increases as well. Kidney disease patients begin to have anemia, fatigue, weakness, lost body weight, and so on. If they suffer from water lost, infection or bleeding, the condition will develop faster.
The third stage is early stage of renal failure stage. In this stage, the serum creatinine is 443-707umol/L. There are more necrotic renal glomerulus. Renal fibrosis appears in renal tubules-renal parenchyma, renal blood vessels, which leads to serious damage in the kidney. As for the symptoms, kidney disease patients will have more obvious anemia, increased urine at night, and so on.
In the end stage of renal failure, serum creatinine is more than 707umoll/L. In China, patients begin to take dialysis. The damaged renal glomerulus are more than 95%. Patients with kidney disease will also have serious vomiting, little urine, edema, high blood pressure and so on.

What’re the Symptoms of Renal Insufficiency?

Renal Insufficiency has many symptoms which appear in several aspects. Renal Insufficiency is a middle period between compensation stage to Uremia, which should be attached more importance to, or else, it will deteriorate into end-stage of renal failure-Uremia. So pay more attention to the symptoms and take effective treatment as soon as possible. The symptoms go as follows:
The first symptoms are in stomach and guts, which are usually the earliest and the most common symptoms. At first, patients with Renal Insufficiency have anorexia, discomfort in abdomen, which are the main reasons why patients go to see a doctor. Later, patients with Renal Insufficiency will feel nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, glossitis, ozostomia, etc. what’s worse, some of them even have bleeding in digestive tract.
The second symptoms are in nerve system, which are usually weakness, pain in head, dizziness, bad memories, insomnia. Some feel pins and needles, burning pain in hand and feet, gargalesthesia in skin, and even itch in lower limbs, which makes patients with Renal Insufficiency move here and there, and can not stop. In the end-stage, patients with Renal Insufficiency will have symptoms such as drowsiness, dysphoria, ravings, muscular twitching, convulsions and even coma.
The third symptoms are in cardiovascular system. Patients with Renal Insufficiency often have high blood pressure. Long time high blood pressure will make the pachynsis of ventriculus sinister increase, the damage in myocardium, heart failure. In addition, the retention of poisonous materials will lead to injury in myocardium, which leads to uremic pericarditis.
The fourth symptoms are in hemopoietic system. Anemia is an essential system for patients with Uremia. Besides anemia, there can also be bleeding easily such as epistaxis, bleeding gums, tarry stool, etc.
The final symptoms are in respiratory system. Due to acidosis, patients with Renal Insufficiency often have deep breath. The retention of metabolin can lead to bronchitis, pneumonia, pleuritis which are caused by Uremia. And related clinical symptoms and other physical signs will also appear.
What should patients with Renal Insufficiency do after they are diagnosed? Absolutely they should take effective measures. Besides western medicine and dialysis, what should we receive? In our Hospital, we have the combination of Chinese Medicine and Stem Cell, which can help patients get rid of sufferings.
If you are interested in Chinese Medicine and Stem Cell, the characteristic treatment in our Hospital, please communicate with the doctors online or email us. We sincerely hope patients with Renal Insufficiency recover soon.
