Is Diabetic Nephropathy Reversible

Diabetic Nephropathy patients in America account for 1.6 % to 2 % of the total people. The number of them is 5 million. Patients who are diagnosed with Diabetic Nephropathy take up 40% of those with Diabetes. Is diabetic nephropathy reversible? It is due to which stage patients are in. Generally, the less damage there is in the kidney, the easier for the patients to get recovery. In general, in the world, Diabetic Nephropathy can be divided into 5 stages in clinic.
The first stage of Diabetic Nephropathy is called ultrafiltration, which means the filtration is much. The size of the kidney also increases in this stage due to hard working. In this stage, controlling blood sugar is critical.
The second stage of Diabetic Nephropathy is called clinical stage. In this stage, patients can also not be diagnosed with Diabetic Nephropathy easily. Some have a little high blood pressure and the high blood pressure is not steady.
In the third stage of Diabetic Nephropathy, there starts to appear some steady manifestations such as high blood pressure. There is also protein in the urine. The third stage is also a critical stage for patients with Diabetic Nephropathy. After treatment, the disease can be reversible as long as patients with Diabetic Nephropathy take effective treatment. Or else, patients will go to the fourth stage. In the fourth stage of Diabetic Nephropathy, patients will have a large amount of protein in urine. No matter what measures they take, protein in urine is hard to diminish. Blood pressure increases continuously. Blood urea nitrogen and serum creatinine increase as well.
How to reverse Diabetic Nephropathy in the third stage or before the third stage? Patients can choose Chinese Medicine and stem cell transplant.
Firstly, the functions of Chinese Medicine go as follows: it contains nutritious herbs which can promote the blood circulation, improve the micro-blood circulation, thus extending blood vessels and reliving the hyperperfusion in the kidney intrinsic cells. After these, a cleaner inner environment is created, which can also repair the damaged cells in the kidney.
Secondly, we can also not forget to treat diabetes, the primary disease which causes diabetic nephropathy after lasting for a long time. Stem cell therapy is considered the best therapy in the world to treat diabetes. After stem cells are injected into patients’ body, they will differentiate like seed, which will grow in kinds of tissues. A certain amount of autologous stem cell will differentiate into cells which can replace the damaged pancreas islet B cells and secrete insulin once again, thus treating diabetes.
Thirdly, stem cell can also be used to treat diabetic nephropathy especially when it develops into the fourth and the fifth stage. In these two stages, in the kidney, there are necrotic cells and stem cell can differentiate into cells which replace their function.
We believe diabetic nephropathy can reverse with the help of stem cell and Chinese Medicine.

Diabetic Nephropathy Symptoms in Urine

Diabetic Nephropathy is a kind of secondary kidney disorders which is caused by long time diabetes. It is reported that if not controlled well, 20% to 40% of patients with diabetes will develop into Diabetic Nephropathy after 20 to 25 years. Diabetic Nephropathy is the most common complication of diabetes, which can also be called renal glomerular sclerosis caused by diabetes.
Once diagnosed with Diabetic Nephropathy, patients are more concerned about the symptoms in urine for kidney has an important function: filtration. In normal condition, only small molecules can filtrate out through kidney into urine. However, when Diabetic Nephropathy takes place, some middle molecules and even big molecules will also filtrate out such as proteins in urine.
In clinic, the earliest symptom of Diabetic Nephropathy is protein in urine. At the beginning, it appears every now and then. Later, it appears continuously. In the beginning, it is micro albuminuria, which can not be tested out through conventional urinalysis. Once we find out there is protein in urine, it usually develop into middle stage. How to test protein in the early stage? We can test the secretion rate of albumin. In the early stage, the conventional protein test is negative, and if it is more than 0.5g/24 hours for a long time, it indicates that patients have become into renal failure stage.
In addition, in urine change, patients with Diabetic Nephropathy can also have increased urine at night or increased times of urine at night, both of which indicates that the renal function is damaged.
However, we needn’t worry for we have effective medicine and therapy on the basis of the pathological mechanism of Diabetic Nephropathy. In our Hospital, we have researched out immunotherapy considering that diabetes is caused by immune problem. In immunotherapy, both Chinese medicine and western medicine are applied such as stem cells. Pancreas islet β cells are damaged, which leads to insufficient secretion of insulin. In this case, the blood sugar will increase. If this can not be treated or controlled well, it will lead to systematic disorder and a series of complications will occur as well. Stem cells can repair the damaged pancreas islet β cells, thus recovering the function of insulin. In this case, the secretion of insulin can turn normal and diabetes can recover consequently.
For the repair of kidney damage, we also use Chinese medicine, which can benefit Qi ( Chinese medical term) and blood, thus increasing the immunity as well.

Stages of Diabetic Nephropathy

Diabetic Nephropathy patients in America account for 1.6 % to 2 % of the total people. The number of them is 5 million. Patients who are diagnosed with Diabetic Nephropathy take up 40% of those with Diabetes. Is Diabetic Nephropathy serious and how to treat Diabetic Nephropathy? Generally, Diabetic Nephropathy can be divided into five stages and different stages have their specific treatment measures. And doctors will give specific prescription according to the different stages. In this passage, we will mainly introduce the five stages of Diabetic Nephropathy.
The first stage of Diabetic Nephropathy is called ultrafiltration, which means the filtration is much. The size of the kidney also increases in this stage due to hard working. The purpose is to discharge the sugar out. The load from kidney is heavy, kidney becomes bigger. What we should point out is that there is no symptom in the first stage.
The second stage of Diabetic Nephropathy is called clinical stage. In this stage, patients can also not be diagnosed with Diabetic Nephropathy easily. Some have a little high blood pressure and the high blood pressure is not steady. At this moment, if patients take a renal biopsy or puncture, they can find out that in kidney, there is damage or lesion. However, urinalysis can not tell the change and there are also no clinical manifestations in clinic.
In the third stage of Diabetic Nephropathy, there starts to appear some steady manifestations such as high blood pressure. There is also protein in the urine. The third stage is a critical stage for patients with Diabetic Nephropathy. After treatment, the disease can be reversible as long as patients with Diabetic Nephropathy take effective treatment. In the fourth and fifth stage, patients’ Diabetic Nephropathy is difficult to get recover with the damage become more and more.
So it is quiet necessary for patients or normal people to have examinations on urine. microalbumin is an important index which can identify whether people have tend to develop into kidney disease.
In the fourth stage of Diabetic Nephropathy, patients will have a large amount of protein in urine. No matter what measures they take, protein in urine is hard to diminish. Blood pressure increases continuously. Blood urea nitrogen and serum creatinine increase as well.
In the last stage, patients with Diabetic Nephropathy develop into renal insufficiency stage. Many symptoms come out such as high blood pressure, edema, increased urine or no urine, pain in the back, and so on. In addition, patients with Diabetic Nephropathy may also have other symptoms such as anemia, fatigue, osteoporosis and so on.

Chronic Kidney Disease Caused by Diabetic Nephropathy

Chronic Kidney Disease caused by Diabetic Nephropathy is quiet common in society in modern times. Diabetes is a kind of capillaries lesions. Kidney is an organ which is caused by these capillaries lesions. Basilar membrane of renal glomerular capillaries becomes widener. Sugar and protein increase, and there is also deposition of crystal materials, which leads to the increased permeability of capillaries. Pathological change of renal capillaries can lead to the sclerosis of renal glomeruli, which is the main pathogenesis of Chronic Kidney Disease caused by Diabetic Nephropathy.
In Chronic Kidney Disease caused by Diabetic Nephropathy, kidney tissues are in the insufficiency of blood and oxygen, which leads to the increase of blood viscosity. The deformability of red blood cells decreases, so inner pressure of renal capillaries increases. The artery resistance of renal glomeruli increases. The pressure of ultrafiltration increases. The damage of renal glomerular capillaries and arteries form proteinuria, edema, renal failure, high blood pressure and so on.
The pathogenesis area of Chronic Kidney Disease caused by Diabetic Nephropath is mainly in renal glomeruli. When the toxins accumulate to some amount, renal failure and even uremia will take place.
At present, it is generally believed that Chronic Kidney Disease caused by Diabetic Nephropath has many causes including metabolism disorder, abnormal secretion, haemodynamics change and capillaries change. It is said that the coming into being of Chronic Kidney Disease caused by Diabetic Nephropath is connected with gene, insulin, glucagon, abnormal growth hormone enlarged kidney. The majority hold the idea that metabolism disorder influences the basilar, and makes their elements change. So the basilar membrane increases and the permeability of capillaries become width. In this case, Chronic Kidney Disease caused by Diabetic Nephropath comes into being.
Chronic Kidney Disease caused by Diabetic Nephropath is a common complication of Diabetes. 15% of patients with type 2 Diabetes are likely to suffer from Chronic Kidney Disease caused by Diabetic Nephropath. In recent years, more younger people tend to have Chronic Kidney Disease caused by Diabetic Nephropath. So effective treatment is necessary or else it may develop into renal failure.
At the early stage of Chronic Kidney Disease caused by Diabetic Nephropath, there is only albumin in the urine, which is latent and there is no symptoms, either. So early stage of Chronic Kidney Disease caused by Diabetic Nephropath will not lead to much influence in patients’ life. but we should know that we must treat it as soon as possible once we are diagnosed with Chronic Kidney Disease caused by Diabetic Nephropath. Some data shows that the renal failure rate for patients with Diabetes is more 17 times higher than those without Diabetes.

Can Dialysis Cure CKD?

Can dialysis cure CKD? In many countries, when serum creatinine is more than 445 umol/L, chronic kidney disease patients are suggested to take dialysis, for serum creatinine is a kind of metabolism products and toxic, which will damage the body if not cleared away in time.
The reason why creatinine can not be discharged out is that there is damage in the renal intrinsic cells, which causes damage in the renal structure and renal function later accordingly. So from the above, we can get a conclusion that when serum creatinine is high, there must be damage in the kidney.
However, dialysis can not cure kidney disease and it is only considered an assistant method, and the reasons are as follows:
1. Dialysis can clear away the small molecules such as creatinine, urea acid, blood urea acid and so on, the clearance of which is not complete. When kidney is damaged, there are also middle molecules and big molecules which should have been cleared away. Dialysis can not make it and we should make use of other blood purification methods such as blood filtration, blood perfusion, plasma exchange. Especially plasma exchange is necessary in most of time for most kidney diseases are caused by immune problem and plasma can help discharge the immune complex.
2. Secondly, long time dialysis and no repair treatment will make patients with CKD miss the best opportunity to take effective treatment. As we mentioned before, there has been damage in the kidney. If we do not stop it, it will develop for there has been insufficiency of blood and oxygen and there has been immune complex depositing. Delaying the treatment will make the condition deteriorate and CKD patients may develop into the last stage uremia, in which case, the treatment will be more difficult.
Dialysis can not cure CKD fundamentally. What should patients with CKD do then? We would like to recommend a better therapy called immunotherapy in our Hospital, China. This therapy can be divided into 6 steps such as immune diagnosis, immune clearance, immune inhibition, immune tolerance, immune adjustment and immune protection. Immune clearance includes blood dialysis, plasma exchange and so on. In immune adjustment and immune protection stage, Chinese medicine and western medicine are applied, which can repair the damaged intrinsic cells and rebuild renal function at the same time.

How Much Creatinine Level Can Be Reduced by Dialysis

Some kidney disease patients who are under dialysis ask how much creatinine level can be reduced by dialysis. Generally, in China, when serum creatinine rises to 707umol/L, patients begin to take dialysis. In most of other countries in the world, patients receive dialysis when serum creatinine rises to more than 450umol/L.
Dialysis can really reduce creatinine, and long time creatinine can even help those who have not very high creatinine decrease the level into the normal one. However, dialysis can not stop. Why? Dialysis means blood purification in most of time. It is just like an artificial machine, which can help discharge the creatinine but can not stop the deterioration of kidney function. Once creatinine rises, it proves that there appears damage in the kidney, especially the damage of intrinsic cells in the kidney. The leak out of creatinine is due to the damage of renal glomerular filtration barrier. If we do not repair it, creatinine will rise again even it turns normal with the help of dialysis.
So from the above, we can get a conclusion that to reduce serum creatinine to normal, we should not only take dialysis but also use medicine which can repair damaged cells so as to maintain dialysis. What medicine can achieve better effect? In our Hospital, we have Chinese Medicine. Firstly, there are many active and nutritious herbs in Chinese Medicine, which can promote the blood circulation and dissolve the stasis in the blood, thus improving micro-circulation of all parts in the body. Secondly, the nutritious herbs can also supply nutrition to the kidney, thus improving the insufficiency of blood and oxygen in the kidney and repairing the damaged intrinsic cells in the kidney at the same time. Thirdly, the nutritious herbs can also benefit qi and blood, which can increase the immunity of chronic kidney disease patients. Fourthly, compared with dialysis, Chinese Medicine can stop creatinine from rising again. The reasons are as follows: on one hand, Chinese Medicine can repair the damaged intrinsic cells, which can prevent creatinine leaking out again. On the other hand, Chinese Medicine can increase the immunity. Patients will not be easy to suffer from it again although being infected.

Will Dialysis Reduce Creatinine Level

Will dialysis reduce creatinine level? This is a question which we find out in face book. Persons who put forward this question are generally those who have been diagnosed with renal failure not long ago and are suggested by their doctors that they should take dialysis. They are also told that their creatinine level is high, which is one metabolism from the body and should have been discharged out. In kidney, there are millions of renal units. There are also renal glomerular filtration membranes, through which, creatinine and other small molecules can pass or leak out. So when people are suffering from renal failure, their creatinine level is also very high. Dialysis is a kind of method which can play the same roles as kidney. So it can filtrate small molecules such as creatinine and so on.
From the above, we can get a conclusion that dialysis can reduce creatinine level. However, chronic kidney disease patients who are under dialysis for a long time, they are so tired of this method and want to choose or try another therapy. The reasons are as follows.
Firstly, dialysis can not repair the damaged kidney intrinsic cells. As we know, when kidney is damaged, there must be some damaged intrinsic cells which can not play their roles normally. Dialysis can only help eliminate the creatinines in the body and can not repair the damaged intrinsic cells for dialysis machine is just a machine. So with time passing by, kidney failure will become more serious and eventually they may develop into advanced stage of kidney failure: uremia. At this moment, patients with kidney disease may even have to receive kidney transplantation.
In addition, dialysis for a long time can also lead to some complications. Various problems are related to vascular access in patients on hemodialysis and to abdominal catheters in patients using continuous ambulatory peritoneal dialysis (CAPD). These vascular access complications are similar to those seen in any patient with a vascular surgical procedure (eg, bleeding, local or disseminated intravascular infections [DIC], vessel [graft] occlusion). The native peripheral vascular system is also affected with higher rates of amputation and revascularization procedures, and a peritoneal dialysis catheter subjects patients to the risks of peritonitis and local infection, because the catheter acts as a foreign body and provides a portal of entry for pathogens from the external environment.
So for patients who are diagnosed with chronic kidney disease not long ago, if they can choose another therapy instead of dialysis, they have chance to live a healthy life for their damaged intrinsic cells can be repaired, thus renal function can be recovered. The combination of Chinese Medicine and stem cell transplant can repair the damaged intrinsic cells and even generate new necrotic ones, thus rebuilding renal function.
Firstly, Chinese Medicine is applied.
Chinese Medicine can promote the blood circulation and dissolve the stasis in the blood, creating a clearer inner environment. It contains many active and nutritious substances, which can repair the damaged intrinsic cells and treat kidney disease fundamentally. In addition, Chinese Medicine is abstracted from traditional Chinese medicine and has a micro-process compared with traditional Chinese medicine, which means that the use ratio is increased. Last but not least, Chinese Medicine is not taken in orally but through osmosis in renal area, which also means that it will not stimulate the stomach and guts, which may lead to poor appetite.
As for those necrotic cells, we can use stem cell transplantation. It can differentiate into such cells after they enter human body.

How to Get Rid of Dialysis for Patients with Renal Failure

Renal failure patients will take dialysis when serum creatinine rises as high as 445umol/L in most of countries. Indeed, dialysis can help us clear away the toxins in the body such as creatinine, which is known to all of us. However, all patients want to stop dialysis and hope that one day, their own kidney can work normally again. In addition, they also consider the side effects and complications of long time dialysis, which goes as follows:
Firstly, long time dialysis can lead to the atrophic kidney. After that, there will be less blood flow in the kidney, so urine can not form accordingly. In this case, kidney failure patients have to take dialysis more times than before.
Secondly, dialysis can also cause hypophosphatemia. What’s worse, for some patients, they may have insufficiency of breathing. If we add phosphorus 1.3mmol/L in the dislysate, we can avoid hypophosphatemia.
Thirdly, chronic kidney disease patients who are under dialysis can also lead to the alkalosis. A large amount of basic group can correct the metabolic acidosis in patients with renal failure, while those who are poisoned as a result of medicine and toxins do not have acidosis, so alkalosis can come into being and patients may also feel nausea, headache, weakness. What’s worse, some may even have cardiac arrhythmia.
Last but not least, peritoneal dialysis in particular may easily lead to infection, which can be operated at home by patients themselves or their family members.
Considering this, patients all want to stop dialysis. What the method they will choose? Stem cell and Chinese Medicine have been applied in clinic, which has achieved good effect. The mechanism of stem cells is as follows: in renal failure stage, there must be necrotic cells, which lead to renal fibrosis and atrophy kidney. Stem cells are initial cells which can differentiate into intrinsic cells the body needs after they enter the body, thus reviving renal function.
However, do not forget that in kidney failure stage, there are toxins in the blood, which is not good for the differentiation of stem cells. So at this time, we use Chinese Medicine to supply a favorable environment. Chinese Medicine can play roles such as extending blood vessels, anti-inflammation, anti-coagulation, degradation and so on.

What Kind of Bread Can Nephrotic Syndrome

Especially in western countries, patients with Nephrotic Syndrome will be given some suggestions on meals. For example, for breakfast, some choose a bag of milk, 50g bread, and 30g lotus powder. So at this time, some patients will ask what kind of bread they can choose. Generally, they can choose whatever kind they like and they should also pay attention to the following principles.
1. Don’t take in bread which contains too much sugar, for too much sugar can give kidney disease patients more burden, especially for those with diabetic nephropathy. When the sugar in the blood is not controlled well, high blood sugar and increased adanced glycation end products can lead to the proliferation of mesangial cells and increased matrix. The mesangial area will extend, which can really become a factor of the occurrence of Diabetic Nephropathy.
2. Don’t take in bread which contains too much salt. Proper amount of sugar is necessary. But if the intake is excessive, it will do harm to the body, thus influencing kidney accordingly. Especially for Nephrotic Syndrome patients who have severe edema, they should restrict the amount of salt.
Besides these, Nephrotic Syndrome patients should also pay attention to other kinds of food. For example, they should take in more high quality food such as milk and lean meat. Take care of eggs. Choose egg white for it contains much good quality and don’t choose egg yellow for it contains rich phosphorus and cholesterol.
In addition, Nephrotic Syndrome patients should also avoid beans or bean product, which contains bad protein and should choose those with good protein. Good protein means that after metabolism, it can cause less nitrogen. Nitrogen, as we know, is a kind of metabolism product which can bring kidney more burden.
The above mentioned are about the bread Nephrotic Syndrome patients should choose and other points. However, these are only assistant tips. Once diagnosed with Nephrotic Syndrome, patients should take effective measures to treat so as to prevent further development.

Diet for Kidney Shrinkage Patients Is Different From Others

What is the diet for kidney shrinkage patients? Shrinkage kidney means the fibrosis of kidney due to the damage in kidney especially in mesenchyma. This condition indicates that patients have become into stage 5 of chronic kidney disease which can also be called uremia. In this stage, serum creatinine rises to as high as 707umol/L and GFR decreased to as low as less than 15. In this stage, most patients are under dialysis, the diet of which is different from other kidney disease patients.
Firstly, the total amount of water intake every day should be the amount of urine plus 500ml. Here, the amount we take in includes the juice and other drinks we take in.
Secondly, patients who have high blood pressure (hypertension) and retention of water and sodium( edema, swelling, or dropsy) should avoid food such as salted vegetables, cans, salted snacks, and so on.
Thirdly, patients who are under dialysis should also choose good quality proteins, which can produce less nitrogen such as milk, egg white, and lean pork, etc. Such protein can supply enough amino acid, which is essential for the body. Beans contain bad quality protein which can metabolize more nitrogen. Kidney fails to secrete such wastes, so it will give kidney more burden, which should be attached more importance.
Fourthly, patients should avoid food which is rich in phosphorus such as animal’s organs, peanuts, snacks, dried fish, kelp, cheese, and so on and avoid food rich in potassium such as bananas, tomatoes, oranges, etc for in uremia stage, most patients have high level of phosphorus and potassium.
Last but not least, effective treatment is also essential and critical, which can prolong the life expectancy of patients with Shrinkage kidney.

Black Soya Beans Have Urea Acid

Can patients with kidney disease have black soya beans? Black soya beans, as we know, contain rich protein, which is popular in many countries. However, patients with kidney disease should eat less and the reasons are as follows:
Firstly, protein in black soya beans belongs to plane protein, which is not good quality protein. So in the process, it will produce more urea acid and nitrogen, which will give kidney more burden.
Secondly, if kidney disease patients really want to supply, they can choose good quality protein, which can produce less urea acid and nitrogen in the process. Food which is rich in good quality protein is such as egg white, milk, lean meat and so on.
Thirdly, yellow bean should not be taken in so much, either. The reasons are the same as the black soya bean, which can also lead to more burden.
For more information about food which is fit for patients with kidney disease, please consult us on line or leave a message. We are glad to serve.

How to Celebrate Christmas Day for Patients with Kidney Disease?

Christmas Day is a very significant festival in many countries when family members will all go hoem and celebrate it together. No matter where they go, no matter what they are doing, they will have a legal holiday and go home. With the coming of Christmas Day, more and more people in western countries are preparing food and other things to celebrate the traditional festival. They especially think about what will be on table, which should be delicious and nutritious. As for patients with kidney disease, what should they pay attention to? Can they have food as freely as other people? Actually, to ensure the effect of treatment, even on Christmas Day, they should also be aware what can not be eaten as usual.
Firstly, patients with kidney disease should pay attention to the amount of water which they take in every day. For a normal person, the urine is 1500—2000ml per day. But for patients with acute nephritis and Nephrotic Syndrome, they should control the amount of water. If water can not discharge well after being taken in, edema will become serious. At the same time, high blood pressure will also become serious. At this moment, the water intake should be kept at 500ml. When the amount of urine increases, kidney disease patients can drink more water. For kidney disease patients whose urine is normal, it is not necessary to limit the amount of water. What’s more, for those who have urinary infection such as acute pyelonephritis, urethritis, cystitis, besides adopting treatment in time, it is beneficial for them to drink more water and discharge more urine, which is beneficial to the recovery.
Secondly, kidney disease patients should also pay attention to the amount of salt. For normal people, the intake should be kept at 5 to 6g every day. In some area, the average intake of salt is as much as 12g every day. Salt is sodium chloride. Soda is sodium carbonate. So if patients with kidney disease have more salt which contains more sodium, water will accumulate into the body and edema will take place accordingly. So for patients with renal edema, they should control the intake of salt and soda. The amount should be kept at 2 to 3g every day. Food with no salt is also not scientific for people will feel weak if it lasts for a long time.
Thirdly, kidney disease patients should also be aware of fish, shrimps, and so on. Especially for those with Purpura Nephritis, they should also pay attention to the allergic reaction. However, should all patients with kidney disease limit the intake of fish? After all, fish contains so much protein. For those whose renal function is not damaged seriously, they can have some fish to supply protein.
In addition, kidney disease patients should also avoid being tired and have enough rest. Last but not least, patients should also avoid being catching a cold, which will increase the risk of recurring of kidney disease.
Wish all patients with kidney disease have a happy Christmas Day.

Should Renal Insufficiency Patients Have More Vitamin

Should renal insufficiency patients have more vitamin? There is no doubt that vitamin can take part in the metabolism of organic energy, and the lack of vitamin in the body can lead to the barrier of metabolism of organic energy. In addition, many blood coagulation factor and anticoagulation factors rely on vitamin. Vitamin D plays an important role in the metabolism of calcium and phosphorus. Vitamin D6 and folic acid are valued as well. When patients are suffering from kidney disease, renal function declines, which leads to the change of vitamin metabolism in the body. So patients should take in more vitamin. Many fruits are rich in vitamin such as apples, pears, pineapples, and so on.
Pay attention that vitamin C should not be taken in more, especially for those who have bad renal insufficiency, which may worsen kidney disease.
Bananas contain much sodium. Patients with acute nephritis, chronic nephritis, renal insufficiency can not have bananas for it contains much sodium. Especially patients with edema and high blood pressure can not have bananas. Long time having bananas for them can accelerate the edema or high blood pressure. In addition, patients with renal insufficiency can not have bananas, either.

Can Nephritic Syndrome Patients Drink Wine

The patients with Nephritic Syndrome(NS) should restrict drinking, because drinking could result the decline on the synthesis of hepatic glycogen, especially to the patients with such symptoms as hypertension, nephritic syndrome, and hyperlipaemia. Excessive drinking could reduce the appetite, thus reduce the intake of food, thereby result the multiple nutritional deficiencies, even result the alcoholic cirrhosis for serious case. Moreover, alcohol could reduce the renal plasma flows and deteriorate the renal functions as well as add burden to the heart.
Medical research suggests that, more than 90% wine that we drank is metabolized in liver. Liver has a strong metabolic capacity for alcohol. If we drink 50ml Maotai vines, namely about 30g alcohol, for the metabolism of it, liver needs about 46 hours, and moreover, this metabolism for alcohol is at the cost of itself, because abundant coenzyme I, coenzyme II and cytochrome P450 would be consumed in metabolic process, and the overconsumption of these substances could result the necrosis of liver cells, furthermore, could make the liver fibrosis even cirrhosis. These mentioned are just the impairment to liver, in fact, drinking could nearly harm all the body organs. Longtime drinking could result anemia, platelet function disorder, various kinds of haemorrhage, which would result the gastrointestinal malabsorption, nutritional deficiency, and also lead to hyperlipidemia and atherosclerosis, etc. All of those are the harm to the body. When the balance of the whole body has been destroyed, the damaged kidney could not get a good external environment that renal recovery needs, so drinking is very harmful.
Can the patients with NS drink? Surely, a low dose of alcohol has some certain benefits for the body, such as strengthening the protection capability against the ultraviolet injury, but here, low dose mean “extremely scarce”: the amount for alcohol is about several grams per day, and the daily drinking could not be only this amount, so the volumes are difficult to control. Thereby, for the sake of their health, the patients would better keep away from the temptation of “tasty wine”
After the above introduction, we believe that you might have some understanding about why the patients with NS cannot drink, however, in spite of that prohibition, these patients can eat more animal proteins such as milk, egg, lean meat and fish, etc, while eat less on vegetable proteins, for example, bean products, that is because the utilization rate on vegetable protein is low, which would aggravate the uremia.
Experts also remind that, the patients with NS should pay attention to prevent infection, since their body have weak resistance to germs and easily involve in infection. In addition, keep room’s regular ventilation, and keep regular bathing and the skin clean, so as to prevent the infection in urinary system. Meanwhile, have enough relaxation, and take precautions against cold, especially in the cold –prevailing seasons. If there are any complications, get a treatment without delay.

Headache in Patient with Chronic Renal Failure

For patients with chronic renal failure, with the rising of blood pressure, their organic function will be damaged. Chronic renal failure patients can also show complications such as nerve system symptoms. In this case, there appears edema, anemia, and so on, which influences the normal activity of the body, thus causing headache accordingly.
After headache appears, patients with chronic renal failure will feel upset, depressed, which worsens headache in turn. In this case, if patients can not have a good rest, their organic immune ability will decrease. So to relieve headache, we should firstly control high blood pressure, and then diminish edema. We can also relieve headache by massage, combing hair, and so on.
If the above mentioned methods can not take effect, patients should take treatment for in renal failure stage, there must be damage in the kidney. So only after all these damaged cells are repaired, can we recover renal function and relieve the symptoms such as headache.
In our Hospital, we have Chinese Medicine, which contains many nutritious materials and is abstracted from natural herbs, which can repair the damaged intrinsic cells and has no side effects. At present, it has become one part of immunotherapy. According to immunology, most of kidney diseases are caused by immune problem. So on the basis of both western medicine and Chinese medicine, we created a unique one, immunotherapy, which has no side effects compared with pure western medicine and can treat kidney disease fundamentally. The immunotherapy in our hospital can be divided into 6 steps: immune diagnosis, immune clearance, immune tolerance, immune inhibition, immune adjustment and immune protection.

What Can Lead to the Damage to CKD

The factors which can lead to the damage to CKD are as follows:
Anger and bad mood
Anger and bad mood can lead to the increased secretion of materials which can shrink the blood vessels. What’s worse, it can also influence the clearance function of white cells and phagocyte and reduce the blood flow in the kidney, leading to the insufficiency of blood and oxygen in the kidney, giving more burden to the kidney.
Tirdness
Liver is used to dissolve toxins and kidney is used to discharge toxins. Most metabolism which is produced in the body will discharge from kidney. When chronic kidney disease patients are too tired, the adjustment ability will decrease, the protection ability will decrease, which can worsen renal insufficiency.
High blood pressure
Besides allergic reaction which can lead to the inflammatory reaction and bacteria infection, in clinic, high blood pressure is also a factor which can worsen chronic kidney disease. After the blood pressure increases, the blood vessels in all levels of arteries will shrink, which leads to the insufficiency of blood and oxygen in the kidney and renal fibrosis starts. With more and more kidney units damaged, renal failure deteriorates, which even may develop into uremia.
Long time high blood sugar
Long time high blood sugar can damage levels of blood vessels. It can also lead to thinner lumen and form thrombosis. In this case, the blood supply to kidney will decrease. Long time high blood glucose can also increase the thickness of basilar membrane, make the lumen of arteries become marrow. The endothelial cells can also relieve materials which can shrink the blood and lead to the insufficiency of blood and oxygen in the kidney.

Any Herbs for Kidney Disease

Considering the side effects of some western medicine in treating kidney disease, more and more patients turns to herbs for help in the hope of fundamental treatment. Indeed, some herbs have no side effect and can control kidney disease effectively.
In this passage, we will introduce a kind of Chinese medicine called Danshen. It is a kind of plant containing tanshinone, Isotanshinone, Cryptotanshinone and so on, which can help promote the blood circulation and dissolve the blood stasis, repair the damaged renal glomerular basilar membrane, relieve the sclerosis of renal glomerulus, thus reducing protein in urine and rebuilding renal structure. In addition, Danshen can also adjustment the immunity of the body, thus reducing infection and other factors which leads to or worsen renal failure.
How do we get Danshen? It is in the market? Yes. But we have to buy it, smash it and then boil it, which is not convenient. In addition, the effect is limited for there is only one kind of medicine.
Considering these, Chinese Medicine can not only combine many kinds of medicine but also is applied through osmosis. So it can not only treat kidney disease but also efficient.
Besides the advantages we mentioned above when it comes to Danshen, Chinese Medicine can also avoid stimulating guts and stomach for its osmosis application. It is also especially suitable method and priority for children with kidney disease. In many western countries, hormones are applied, which can lead to some side effects and influence the growth of the children.
At present, Chinese Medicine has become part of immunotherapy in our hospital, which is a new innovation. Immunotherapy is a combination therapy of Chinese medicine and western medicine and can be divided into 6 steps such as immune diagnosis, immune clearance, immune inhibition, immune tolerance, immune adjustment and immune protection.

What’s the Creatinine Level for Dialysis

What is the creatinine level for dialysis? Different countries, different kinds of kidney diseases and different persons have specific standard.
Firstly, different countries have different standards. In most of the countries in the world, kidney disease patients take dialysis when the serum creatinine rises as high as 445umol/L. In this condition, creatinine and other toxins in the body will damage the body for the function of the kidney declines. The normal range of serum creatinine is 44 to 103 umol/L. If the high serum creatinine stays in the body for a long time, it will worsen kidney disease. In contrast, in China, kidney disease patients have different standard. It is only after the creatinine is as high as 707 umol/L that most of kidney diseases patients begin to take dialysis. However, there is also exception. In China, in some areas, people take dialysis when the serum creatinine rises to only 300 umol/L. For those with diabetic nephropathy, they begin to take dialysis earlier, which generally is more than 300 umol/L.
Next, different persons also have different opinions. In many western countries, realizing the side effects, complications of long time dialysis, many people refuse dialysis, even when the serum creatinine is as high as 500 or even more than 600 umol/L. They are searching a more effective method for dialysis in deed can not repair the damaged intrinsic cells and no doubt that when kidney function declines and kidney fails, there must be damaged intrinsic functional nephrons. We recommend Chinese Medicine in this case. How does it work?
Firstly, Chinese Medicine contains active nutritious herbs, which can relieve the insufficiency of blood and oxygen in the blood by improving blood circulation, and so on. Secondly, it also contains medicine which can benefit qi and blood, thus increasing immune ability. In this case, kidney disease will be treated fundamentally.

Can Dialysis Treat Kidney Failure?

Can dialysis treat kidney failure? When kidney disease patients have more than 445umol/L creatinine every day, they are suggested to take dialysis. Dialysis is a technology which can discharge the small molecules such as creatinine, and so on, thus purifying the blood environment so as to control the deterioration to some extent.
However, only dialysis is not enough for with kidney disease developing, middle molecules and big molecules can also leak out, which needs blood filtration, blood perfusion, and so on. In addition, most of kidney diseases are caused by immune complex in the blood and onto kidney when the immune system is out of order, which leads to a series of excessive immune reaction, thus causing kidney disease symptoms. Plasma exchange can really help clear away the immune complex, which is suitable for lupus nephritis in particular.
Besides, when kidney disease takes place, there must be damaged intrinsic cells and necrotic intrinsic cells, which should be repaired or differentiated. So Chinese medicine and stem cells are also applied, both of which are parts of immunotherapy in our Hospital, which can be divided into immune diagnosis, immune clearance, immune inhibition, immune tolerance, immune adjustment and immune protection.
Immune diagnosis can help us know the type of immune complex, the exact place where there is the immune complex and the accurate amount of immune complex, which can supply evidence for the treatment plan of doctor.
Immune clearance includes dialysis and other purifications such as plasma exchange, which can help create a better inner environment for the treatment.
Immune adjustment and immune protection can help repair the damaged intrinsic cells, differentiate into intrinsic cells and increase the immune ability at the same time. In these two steps, Chinese Medicine and stem cells are applied. Chinese Medicine can help clear away the immune complex which deposit onto the kidney. In contrast, immune clearance can only clear those in blood.
So from the above, we can get a conclusion that dialysis is only part of the whole immunotherapy system. If you are in kidney failure stage, you should find out a systematic treatment which can ensure the effects of treatment.

Can I Stop Dialysis?

Patient: Dear doctor. I have diabetes for 12 years. I have had a transplanted kidney and after dialysis, the transplanted one failed to work. Now I need to take dialysis again. My serum creatinine is 480umol/L. Can I stop dialysis?
Doctor: Dear sir. Please don’t worry. We can find out the solution for your condition is not as bad as you imagine although you have had a transplanted kidney. What’s your GFR, sir?
Patient: My GFR which I tested last week is 9.
Doctor: OK. Compared with serum creatinine, GFR level is more scientific and accurate for doctors’ judgment on your renal function. I would like to tell you a piece of good news that in Shijiazhuang Kidney Disease Hospital, as long as patients’ GFR level is more than 5, we can try to treat and make it rise to 10 to 15. When patients’ GFR level is between 10 to 15, the frequency of dialysis can be reduced. As long as GFR level is more than 15, patients can get rid of dialysis.
Patient: Thank you, doctor. It really gives me hope. What therapy can you suggest me?
Doctor: Repair the damaged kidney intrinsic cells and differentiate necrotic ones. As for the former, we use Chinese Medicine and as for the latter, we use stem cell. In this way, renal structure can be rebuilt and renal function can be repaired. For more information, please look through the articles in the websites and leave more message if necessary.
Patient: Thank you, doctor.

What food kidney disease patients can not eat?

What food kidney disease patients can not eat? Besides treatment therapy, kidney disease patients also are concerned about this topic, which can also assist the treatment. Generally, the main food which patients with kidney disease can not eat is as follows:
1. bananas
When kidney disease develops into stage 4 or stage 5, the function of kidney is damaged and one function of kidney is to adjust the balance of electrolyte. So in the advanced stage, when electrolyte is out of order, high potassium will come into being as well. Bananas contain very rich potassium, which will worsen patients’ condition.
2. watermelon
Watermelon is forbidden for those who have severe edema or swelling. Especially for patients with nephrotic syndrome, edema or swelling is the typical symptoms. Watermelon contains a lot of water, which will accelerate kidney damage if we do not take care.
3. beans or bean product
Beans or bean product contains much protein, however, it is not suitable for patients with kidney disease for it contains bad quality protein and will produce more nitrogen in the metabolism course compared with good quality protein food such as lean meat, egg white and milk. When kidney is damaged, the function will be damaged at the same time, so it can not discharge nitrogen normally. In this condition, if we take in more beans, it will give kidney more burden.
4. mushroom, oranges, etc
Mushroom, cabbage, bananas, oranges, apricots, spinach, edible amaranth, kelp, nori, Dateplum persimmon, apricot, almond, nut, peanuts, soya bean, mung bean, sheep lumbar, pig’s kidney should also be limited when kidney disease develops into stage 4 or stage 5 for all of them contains rich potassium. In the advanced stage of kidney disease, they will worsen kidney as well just as bananas.

Henoch-Schonlein Purpura with Skin Rash and Nephrotic Syndrome

What’s henoch-schonlein purpura? Why is there skin rash in henoch-schonlein purpura? What’s the relationship between henoch-schonlein purpura and Nephrotic Syndrome? Allergic purpura is short for henoch-schonlein purpura. It is a kind of small vessel vasculitis which is caused by the lesion of blood vessels. The wall of the blood vessels get damaged, then the permeability of blood vessel walls increases, which lead to the leak out of red blood vessels and the form of purpura. When people stand, the venous pressure of lower limbs is higher than that of upper limbs. The exercise of muscles in lower limbs is more than that in lower limbs. After movement, the muscles shrink, which leads the inner pressure to increase. Inner pressure in partial small blood vessels and capillaries increase suddenly, so the back flow of veins is blocked and the vein is in the insufficiency of oxygen, which leads to the damage of blood vessels wall, causing bleeding. In this case, purpura comes into being.
What’s the relationship between purpura and skin rash? Skin rash is actually one symptom of purpura. Besides this, patients with purpura can also suffer from respiratory tract infection, fever, headache, fatigue, and so on. Among them, skin rash is a common symptom. In addition, patients with purpura can also be accompanied by pain in belly, diarrhea, vomiting, hematochezia. What’s more, patients can also suffer from kidney damage at the same time. In other words, kidney can be involved in the damage caused by small vessel vasculitis. So what’s the relationship between purpura and Nephrotic Syndrome?
As we mentioned above, we know that purpura can cause damage to kidney. Nephrotic Syndrome is a kind of kidney disease, which is a group of renal glomerular disease. The characteristics of Nephrotic Syndrome is large amount of proteinuria (protein which leaks out into urine every day is more than 3.5g.), hypoalbuminemia, (which is less than 30g /L), hyperlipemia and serious edema. In a word, if patients with purpura have had the above mentioned symptoms, they will be diagnosed with Nephrotic Syndrome.
Once patients have purpura, they should take care of themselves. At first, do enough exercise and prevent themselves from catching a cold so as to enhance the resistance. Secondly, have enough rest and avoid fatigue. Thirdly, smoking and alcohol should be forbidden as well. Last but not least, pay attention to the diet. Avoid pepper especially sea food which can lead to allergic reaction. In addition, keep far from allergen.
All in all, skin rash is a symptom of purpura and Nephrotic Syndrome is a complication caused by purpura.

Foods to Avoid Lupus Nephritis

Which food can avoid lupus nephritis or preventing worsening lupus nephritis? In this passage, we will introduce it for you in detail.
Firstly, avoid sea food such as fish, prawn, shrimps, crabs, and so on. All these will worsen kidney disease.
Secondly, stop wine which contains alcohol. Alcohol can stimulate mucosa and blood vessels, which can extend inflammation further, thus causing bleeding. In this case, red blood cells will leak out, which leads to hematuria. Here we should also point out that Lupus Nephritis can not smoke either. Similar with wine, smoking can shrink the blood vessels, which influences the blood perfusion in the kidney.
Thirdly, other stimulating food should also be forbidden such as mutton, beef, pepper in particular, coffee, aniseed, caraway, all of which can worsen Lupus Nephritis.
Fourthly, if there is high potassium in the blood, lupus nephropathy patients should stop food such as bananas, tomatoes, potatoes, pumpkin, tea, sauce, etc.
Fifthly, if blood contains much urea acid, patients should stop animal’s internal organs, shrimps, fish, beer, mushroom, beans, etc.
Last but not least, patients with lupus nephropathy should take in vitamin from fresh fruit and vegetables.

After Kidney Transplant, Would I still Have Kidney Disease?

After a successful kidney transplant, would still have kidney disease? This is a question which is put forward by some patients. As a matter of fact, in many cases, kidney disease will still recur several years later. For example, diabetic nephropathy is a kind of secondary kidney disease which is caused by long time high blood sugar in the blood and immune disorder in the body. So after transplant, if these factors can not be controlled well, patients will still have possibility of getting kidney disease.
What shall we do then? The fundamental problem is that we should treat kidney disease and only in this way, can we avoid the new damage in the transplanted kidney and avoid another kidney transplant. How to treat then?
As we know, most kidney diseases are caused by immune disorder. So our focus should be aimed at adjusting the unbalanced immune system, thus increasing immune ability. On the basis of this, in our Hospital, doctors and experts created immunotherapy, which is the combination of both Chinese Medicine and western medicine and can be divided into six steps: immune diagnosis, immune clearance, immune inhibition, immune tolerance, immune adjustment and immune protection.
Through immune diagnosis, we can know where the immune complex deposits exactly and the exact type of immune response so that doctors can get more scientific diagnosis and arrange better treatment. Through immune clearance, we can clear away the immune complex in the blood, which can supply a cleaner inner environment for the treatment of kidney disease. The third one is immune inhibition. There is immune complex deposit onto kidney, which leads to immune response. In this case, we use medicine which can stop the excessive immune response, thus stopping the inflammation response at a rapid speed.
After that, patients will come into immune tolerance and immune adjustment stage. In adjustment stage in particular, many effective medicines are used such as Chinese Medicine, which is used to clear away the immune complex which deposits onto kidney, which is very critical. In the last step, stem cell therapy is also applied, which is used to repair damaged intrinsic cells, differentiate into necrotic cells and increase the immune ability at the same time.
From the above, we can know that after these steps, the transplanted kidney can avoid getting damaged, thus preventing from kidney disease once more.

Effect of Renal Transplantation for Chronic Renal Disease

In the advanced stage of renal failure, kidney nearly fails to work, and patients with chronic kidney disease are suffering from many symptoms such as edema, little urine and fatigue and so on. So more and more patients decide to have renal transplantation. At the same time, they also want to know the effects of renal transplantation.
1. Kidney transplantation operation is risky. Once it is not successful, patients with chronic renal disease will die. In addition, after renal transplantation, the life span of transplanted kidney is also limited. After it fails, we should once more think of effective measures to treat chronic kidney disease.
2. Even the operation is successful, patients should still take in medicine which can prevent the rejection.
3. Renal transplantation can not treat chronic kidney disease. We should explain why kidney disease comes into being firstly. In normal condition, the recycling immune complex flows through kidney together with blood circulation, deposit on kidney, and the intrinsic immune system can discharge them out. However, when the immune system is damaged, the immune complex cannot be discharged out, so they will deposit and lead to a series of excessive immune response. We can also say that most kidney diseases are caused by immune problem. If we do not adjust the immune system, the new immune complex will come into being and deposit once more, which leads to the new deposition of immune complex onto kidney, thus causing damage in the kidney once more.
From the above, we can get a conclusion that renal transplantation has side effects. Besides this, we can try another method. Immunotherapy is strongly recommended for you, which is the combination of Chinese medicine and western medicine and can be divided into 6 steps: immune diagnosis, immune clearance, immune inhibition, immune tolerance, immune adjustment and immune protection.

The Contraindication of Kidney Transplant

When patients with kidney disease develop into end stage of renal failure, they are eager to get a matched donated kidney which can help them survive for a long time. On one hand, the donated kidney is hard to find. On the other hand, even if a person volunteers to donated kidney, can the kidney disease patient receive kidney transplant? Actually, there are some contraindications of kidney transplant. Who is suitable for kidney transplant? Who is not? The questions patients often ask go as follows:
1. Can patients with primary kidney disease receive kidney transplant?
Primary kidney disease contains PKD, chronic pyelonephritis, chronic interstitial nephritis, etc. After receiving kidney transplant, such kidney diseases may recur as FSGS, IgA Nephritis, membranous nephritis, etc. These diseases can lead to the lost of renal function after transplantation. However, the rate is just less than 5%. Therefore, it can not be regarded as the contraindication of kidney transplant.
2. Can older people be suitable for kidney transplant?
As we know, kidney transplant is an operation. In most transplant center, there is no limitation in age. Whether patients can receive kidney transplant is up to patient’s physical condition.
3. Can patients with secondary kidney disease receive kidney transplant?
The effect of patients who have type 1 diabetes and have developed into renal failure is better. The treatment of selective renal failure caused by diabetes is the combination transplant of pancrease and kidney.
4. Can patients with insufficiency of heart cerebrovascular disease receive kidney transplant?
Patients with such disease can consider kidney transplant after the bypass operation. Patients with temporary cerebral ischemia can consider kidney disease 6 months later.
5. Can patients with tumor receive kidney transplant?
Generally, those with not so serious tumor can consider kidney transplant such as carcinoma in situ, carcinoma of urinary bladder. After treatment, kidney transplant can be adopted. Most patients with tumor should not receive kidney transplant until 2 two years.
From the above-mentioned, we can get a conclusion that some patients can not receive kidney transplant even they are found out to have renal failure. Is there a therapy for those who can not receive transplant? That is stem cell transplant. It is suitable for nearly all patients who have developed renal failure. What’s more, it has no contraindications or side effects. It need not any match in type, which is relatively more convenient compared with kidney transplant. In addition, it is not difficult the get in contrast to kidney transplant.

How does Proteinuria Come into Being?

As we know, proteinuria is the main characteristic symptoms of chronic kidney disease. The reason why protein in urine comes into being is closely connected with renal glomerular filtration function. The renal glomerular blood vessels can be divided into three layers: from inner side to outer side, endothelium, basilar membrane layer and epithelial layers. In all these three layers, there are different sizes of filtration pores and negative charges. So the barrier function of renal glomerular blood vessels can be divided into 2 kinds: mechanical barrier- filtration pores- negative charges.
1. mechanical barrier- filtration pores
The mechanical barrier can be divided into three layers.
Inner layer is composed of blood capillaries of endothelial cells. In the endothelial cells, there are many ostiole, the diameter of which is 50-100nm and is called fenestration. Water, all kinds of solute and Macromolecular proteins can go through it freely. But,blood cells can be blocked, which can play roles as the barrier of blood cells.
The middle layer is the basement-membrane, which shows structure of fibre net. Bigger molecules such as protein can not pass through basement-membrane. The basement-membrane is the main barrier which prevent macro-molecules from filtration.
The outer layer is the epithelial cell. Epithelial cells have foot process, and between the foot process, there is fracture. In the fracture, there is a filtration slit membrane. On the membrane, there are holes whose diameter is as long as 4 to 14 nm. It is the last barrier. Generally speaking, the substances whose diameter is less than 1.8 nm can be filtrated. Those whose diameter is more than 3.6 nm can not pass.
2. charge barrier-negative charge
All layers of filtration contain many substances which carry negative charge. So the permeability of filtration membrane is up to the discharges of filtrated substances. Substances which carry negative discharge repel plasma protein, which carry negative discharge, and stop them from filtration. Although the diameter of plasma protein is 3.5nm, because it carries negative charges, it is hard to pass through filtration membrane. When all the pathological damages happen in kidney, which includes primary one and secondary one, it will lead to the micro-circulation barrier, and the renal insufficiency of renal tissues. Insufficiency of blood and oxygen leads to the damage of renal capillary endothelial cells. Once the renal capillary endothelial cells are damaged, inflammatory cells will begin infiltration, and release inflammatory medium such as IL-1、TNF—α,etc. At the moment, the pathological damage will lead to the inflammatory reaction. Kidney is on pathological condition. The renal glomerular basilar membrane will have a series of changes. Charge barrier will be damaged. The glycoprotein on the filtration membrane diminishes or disappears, both of which will lead the filtration amount of plasma protein which has negative charge to decrease. So in clinic, protein in urine comes into being.

Proteinuria in Nephrotic Syndrome and Immunity

Is proteinuria in Nephrotic Syndrome related to immunity? It is proved that the form of protein in urine is related to immune response. Nephrotic Syndrome, as we know, is characterized by a large amount of protein in urine, low protein in plasma, edema and high fat in the blood. Protein is a very important index which is used to show how kidney functions. Recently, it is shown that the protein in urine is related to the immunity. As we mentioned in the previous articles, most kidney diseases are related to immune. Briefly speaking, the immune response can damage the renal glomerular basilar membrane and footcells, which can lead to the proteinuria. The detailed mechanism is as follows:
As we mentioned above, most kidney diseases are connected with immune. Nephrotic Syndrome is not an exception. In normal condition, our immune system can defend ourselves and prevent us from being ill. When the outer pathological virus and bacteria invade, the cells which belong to immune system will defend. They combine, which forms the immune complex. Then, immune complex will be discharged from the body and our body turns normal. However, if there is something wrong with the immune system of human body, immune complex will deposit in the body, and can not be discharged out. If the immune complex deposits onto kidney, new immune response will start, the purpose of which is to clear away the immune complex, for long time staying must cause damage, thus causing kidney disease.
The immune complex can attract the cycling inflammatory cells, or make the renal intrinsic cells relieve active materials for blood vessels, cell factors, blood coagulation factors, all of which can damage the renal glomeruli.
On the other hand, the deposition of immune complex under endothelium can also approach the inflammatory cell, thus causing a series of inflammatory response. Their deposition on mesangial area can also lead to damage and activity of mesangial cells, make them relieve more growing factors, thus causing proliferation of mesangical cells, thus causing protein in urine, as well.
From the above mentioned, we can figure out how immune leads to protein in urine in Nephrotic Syndrome. To increase the immunity, Chinese Medicine and stem cells are applied in clinic, both of which are used to increase the immune ability. Especially Chinese Medicine can dissolve the stasis in the blood, improve the blood circulation, including micro-circulation, which can repair the damaged intrinsic cells, thus increasing immune ability.

Proteinuria in Nephrotic Syndrome and Immunity

Is proteinuria in Nephrotic Syndrome related to immunity? It is proved that the form of protein in urine is related to immune response. Why Is There High Protein in Urine

Why is there high protein in urine? Generally speaking, proteinuria means that there is protein in urine. Generally, for a normal person, the amount of protein in urine is 40 to 80 mg, and the upper limit is 150 mg per day, which is called physical proteinuria. Because the amount of protein in urine is little, conventional test shows that it is negative. If the amount is more than 150mg per day, it belongs to abnormal proteinuria. The conventional test shows positive.
Does proteinuria indicate kidney disease? Not always. We can not make a conclusion by only one TUPr. In addition, sometimes, even people do not have kidney disease, they can have protein in urine because of strenuous exercise, heavy labor work, excitement, too chill, too hot, and so on. All this can be called transient proteinuria and can disappear after several hours or several days.
How to diagnosis? When people have an UPQ and find the protein is high for the first time, they should have another examination. If the second test also shows the index is high, such as the number of red blood cells, white blood cells, the deposition of urine and so on. What’s more, they can also have a renal function test to get a scientific diagnosis.
After a compressive diagnosis, if people are diagnosed with kidney disease, they should receive effective treatment as soon as possible.
How about the treatment of protein in urine for patients with chronic kidney disease? In glomeruli, there is filtration barrier. In the middle of the barrier, there is a filtration membrane with pores. Many small molecules metabolism such as creatinine, blood urea nitrogen and urea acid pass through it. For bigger molecules such as proteins, they can not pass through it due to the diameter of the pore. However, when kidney is damaged, the intrinsic cells will be damaged as well such as renal glomerular filtration membrane. In this case, protein will leak out and foam comes into being in the urine. So to reduce the foam in the urine, we should firstly stop the leak out of protein, in other words, repair the damaged renal glomerular filtration membrane.
Having known about the reasons why there is protein leaking out, patients should take effective measures to diminish it and for more information, please consult us on line or email us.

The Causes of FSGS (Focal Segmental Glomerulosclerosis)

FSGS, short for Focal Segmental Glomerulosclerosis, is a genetic abnormality that influences renal glomerulus. The scar tissue covers the body's filtration system, which leads to chronic renal failure. What is the cause of FSGS?
Basically doctors do not know very clear. There may even be several different diseases that cause the same appearance in the kidney. It seems that the general cause of FSGS is immunological. That is, the antibodies and white blood cells we have to fight off infection cause some damage to our own bodies by mistake. In FSGS any damage is usually only in the kidneys, so the rest of you should be alright. In a few cases the condition seems to run in families, but this is uncommon.
In China, doctors divided FSGS into primary one and secondary one. For the former, the reason is not clear, and for the latter, it means FSGS happens after some other disease lasts for a long time which is not treated well. As for the secondary kidney disease, we divided it into three kinds.
1. renal glomerular disease.
It means that FSGS is caused by long time diabetes, hereditary nephtitis, IgA nephritis, etc.
2. renal tubules-interstitial disease.
It means that FSGS is caused by reflux nephropathy, radiation nephritis, etc.
3. Other renal insufficiency diseases.
FSGS (Focal Segmental Glomerulosclerosis) can take place in any age, among which, young men take up a lot. The symptoms are mainly nephrotic syndrome, which takes up about 50%. Proteinuria mainly is continuous or selective. 50% to 60% of patients have hematuria. High blood pressure and renal damage vary according to different persons’ specific condition. The prognosis is closely related to the level of proteinuria.

Why Is There Protein in Urine?

When some people go to toilet, they find that in urine, there is foam, which even does not disappear. What is it? They become worried. Is it serious or not?
The phenomenon which we mentioned is called proteinuria actually. In brief, proteinuria means that there is protein in urine. A normal person’s amount of protein in urine is 40 to 80 mg, and the maximum is 150mg, which is called physiological proteinuria. Because the amount of protein in urine is less, the examination shows negative. If the amount of protein in urine is more than 150mg with 24 hours, it is abnormal. The examination will show positive.
Does protein in urine indicate kidney disease? Does abnormal amount of protein in urine indicate damage in kidney? As a matter of fact, protein in urine can appear when a person is healthy. After strenuous exercise, labor, excitement, too cold, too hot, or in stress condition, abnormal amount of protein in urine will appear. It is called temporary proteinuria. It can disappear after several hours or several days.
Of course, even positive protein in urine can be divided into physiological one and pathological one. The degree and the renal damage are also different. It means that if the protein in urine is high, it probably means that the kidney is damaged and inflammatory reaction takes place. How shall we deal with the large amount of protein in urine? If patients have found that the protein in urine is high, they should have another examination. In the second examination, if the protein in urine is still high, they should have examination about red blood cells, white blood cells, the deposition of urine, etc. In addition, they should have a systematic examination to judge whether there are other diseases.
After all examinations, if patients are diagnosed with kidney disease, such as nephritis, nephrotic syndrome, diabetic nephropathy, or other kidney disease, they should take effective treatment as early as possible. Is there any better therapy to treat kidney disease and eliminate the protein in urine?

Why Is There Protein in Urine

There are many reasons which can cause protein in urine. We should consider from the following aspects.
1. It is caused by renal glomerular damage such as acute renal glomerular nephritis, lupus nephritis, purpura nephritis, diabetic nephropathy, tumor, renal artery sclerosis, nephrotic syndrome.
2. It is caused by renal tubules such as pyelonephritis, damage of renal parenchyma and rejection after kidney transplant.
It can also be caused by protein which spills out such as acute hemolysis, myeloma multiplex, macroglobulinemia.
3. Tissue protein such as inflammation in kidney, poisoning and so on.
4. Others such as chronic kidney failure, diabetes, lupus nephritis.

Must Renal Proteinuria Indicate Nephritis?

Must renal proteinuria indicate nephritis? Many people with proteinuria are concerned about this and doubt whether they have got renal disease. Firstly, let’s look at the definition of renal proteinuria.
Renal proteinuria means that test on renal proteinuria shows it is positive, or the amount of protein in urine is more than 150 mg/24h. As a matter of fact, the proteinuria we mentioned above is pathological proteinuria. Besides this, there is physiological proteinuria, which is a kind of normal, temporary, mild and benign proteinuria. In our daily life, some healthy people can have mild renal proteinuria. The conditions are as follows:
1. fever
The climax period of all kinds of fever can lead to renal proteinuria. After fever fades, renal proteinuria will also disappears consequently, which is maybe related to increased renal flow volume and the increased permeability of renal filtration.
2. chill
In winter or cold atmosphere, people can have temporary and mild renal proteinuria, which results from temporary spasm of renal blood vessels.
3 exercise
After strenuous exercise or labor, people can also have renal hematuria, which may be related to the sharply increased blood flow in kidney and the increased adrenergic.
So it is not scientific to identify all proteinuria a sign of chronic nephritis. As long as the inducement is diminished, renal proteinuria will disappear consequently.
If people’s proteinuria was diagnosed with a sign of chronic kidney disease, do not panic and receive treatment at once. Once the treatment is timely and effective, symptoms can be controlled well. Now maybe many people are interested in why proteinuria appears and in other words, they wonder the pathological damage of the kidney when proteinuria appears.
Actually, in kidney, there are more than one million renal units. Renal units consist of renal glomeruli, renal tubules, etc. they are all functional unites. For example, in renal glomeruli, there are filtration membranes. If they are damaged, some macro-molecules such as proteinuria will leak out, leading to proteinuria eventually.
Chinese Medicine can repair the damaged renal filtration membrane, through which, the proteinuria will disappear eventually. If you want to get more introduction about how Chinese Medicine diminishes proteinuria, please consult the experts online or email us.

Getting Ready for Dialysis in IgA Nephropathy

As we know, as long as kidney disease patients’ serum creatinine rises to as high as 450umol/L, they are suggested or asked by their doctors to take dialysis for creatinine is toxins which will do harm to the kidney if it stays in the body for a long time. The same goes for those with IgA Nephropathy. Here, we would like to introduce IgA Nephropathy patients who are ready to take dialysis.
Firstly, there is no doubt that haemodialysis is essential or necessary, which can help clear away the toxins such as creatinine, blood urea nitrogen, and immune complex, thus reducing the damage caused by excessive immune response.
Secondly, as we mentioned before, Primary IgA nephropathy is characterized by deposition of the IgA antibody in the glomerulus. There are other diseases associated with glomerular IgA deposits, the most common being Henoch-Schönlein purpura (HSP), which is considered by many to be a systemic form of IgA nephropathy. So we should also increase the immunity as well as clear away the immune complex and toxins in the blood through haemodialysis. So how to increase the immunity becomes the focus of IgA nephropathy treatment. To meet this, immunotherapy is created, which is a combination therapy of both western medicine and Chinese traditional medicine, the former of which mainly refers to stem cell transplant and the latter of which is mainly regarding Chinese Medicine. Both of them can increase the immunity in the immune protection stage for the whole immunotherapy can be divided into 6 steps, which are systematic diagnosis, immune clearance, immune inhibition, immune tolerance, immune adjustment and immune protection.
In immune protection period, patients with kidney disease will take stem cell injection. On one hand, they can repair the damaged intrinsic cells, thus helping reviving renal function. On the other hand, some stem cell injection is free of charge such as Treg cells. What’s more, stem cell injection is convenient and has no side effects as well as brings no suffering to chronic kidney disease patients. In immune protection period stage, Chinese Medicine is also used to increase the immune ability.
So patients who are ready for haemodialysis can consider the above mentioned as well as dialysis for only when all the above are paid attention to, can they get a better treatment effect. For more information, please consult us online or leave us a message.

FSGS after Kidney Transplant, on Dialysis now

Patients: Doctor. I have FSGS. One year ago, I received kidney transplant. But now I am on dialysis. Can I stop dialysis?
Doctor: What level is your serum creatinine now and how many times do you take dialysis?
Patients: I received haemodialysis twice a week and my creatinine is 400 now.
Doctor: How long do you receive dialysis after the kidney transplant?
Patients: For three months.
Doctor: OK. Do you have any symptoms or discomfort?
Patients: No obvious symptoms.
Doctor: Sir. Firstly, I would like to tell you that your transplanted kidney can still receive treatment as your front kidney. Secondly, your dialysis time is not long, which is also good for the treatment. Do you test your GFR recently?
Patients: OK.
Doctor: How about the amount of urine every day?
Patients: About 400ml.
Doctor: You should be confident for urine stands for hope. As long as there is urine, it means that there is blood which flows through kidney. In this case, we can use medicine to treat.
Patients: What about the treatment in your hospital?
Doctor: Firstly, Chinese Medicine and secondly, stem cell transplant, which can also be accompanied by some western medicine if necessary.
Chinese Medicine is abstracted from natural herbs, which contains active and nutritious materials and can relieve the insufficiency of blood and oxygen in the kidney and repair the damaged intrinsic cells, thus rebuilding the renal structure to some extent.
Stem cell transplant can also be used to differentiate into necrotic cells. As we know, when patients are in FSGS stage, there must be necrotic cells in the kidney.
After the combination of stem cell transplant and Chinese Medicine, the dialysis frequency can reduce. With time passing by, you can stop dialysis.
Patients: Thank you, doctor.

Minimal Change Kidney Disease Manifestations

Minimal change kidney disease is a kind of kidney disease which is commonly seen. Minimal change kidney disease can also be called lipid nephrosis. Minimal change kidney disease is a kind of kidney nephritis. Because most of patients are allergic to hormone treatment, we can also call it hormone allergic type nephrotic syndrome. Most of them are children, who are usually 1 year old to 6 years old. The summit is 2 years old. Children nephropathy is a common seen pathological type. The general treatment for this disease is to relieve the symptoms and to reduce the reaction which is caused by medicine.
The symptoms of minimal change in clinic are such as a large amount of proteinuria, edema, low protein in plasma, hyperlipemia and so on.
The pathogenesis is as follows:
In most cases, it is believed to be related to the disorder of immune system and there can also be other factors. This disease develops rapidly, and the first symptom is edema. 50% of them had infection before. No matter what the age is, they mostly show symptoms of nephrotic syndrome. Especially among those with fetus minimal change, those who are suffering from nephrotic syndrome account for 63% to 93%. And in addition, those who have too low blood content can get acute renal failure.
The conventional treatment for this disease is the application of glucocorticoid, which is effective to 90% of them. Generally, 7 to 28 days after the treatment, proteinuria will disappear. However, too long time application and only this medicine can lead to the untoward reaction such as increased body weight, slow growth, high blood pressure and so on.

Minimal Change Nephrotic Syndrome Kidney Disorder

Minimal change disease is a kidney disorder that can lead to nephrotic syndrome, although the nephrons of the kidney look normal under a regular microscope. In minimal change disease, there is damage to the glomeruli -- the tiny blood vessels inside the nephron where blood is filtered to make urine and waste is removed. The disease gets its name because this damage is not visible under a regular microscope. It can only be seen under an electron microscope.
Minimal change disease is the most common cause of nephrotic syndrome in children. It causes about 80% of cases in young children. It is also seen in adults, but makes up only 10 to 15% of nephrotic syndrome cases.
1.20% of patients with minimal change kidney disease have various degree of microscopic hematuria. With patients aging, the morbidity of microscopic hematuria is also increasing. Especially in those aged more than 60, due to renal interstitial fibrosis and diabetic microangiopathy, the morbidity of microscopic hematuria is high. However, gross hematuria is rarely seem.
2. Protein in urine is the typical highly selective one among children, which mainly includes albumin, and a slight amount of HMWP such as IgG, α2- macroglobulin, C3, etc.
3. Poor appetite, which is also a symptom.
4. Swelling (especially around the eyes, feet, and ankles, and in the abdomen)
5. Weight gain from fluid retention is also a manifestation of minimal change kidney disorder.
If not treated well and timely, minimal change kidney disease will develop into the second level: mild change. More than half of the glomeruli appear normal and only a small part are found to have changes like mesangial cells' proliferation, glomerular sclerosis and adhension, etc.
So we should take effective treatment measures to stop it from developing. As we mentioned above, most kidney diseases are caused by immune disorder and minimal change kidney disease is not an exception. In our Hospital, we have immunotherapy, which can be divided into 6 steps: immune diagnosis, immune clearance, immune inhibition, immune tolerance, immune adjustment and immune protection. For more information, please consult us online or email us.

Minimal Change Kidney Disease Symptoms

What are the symptoms of minimal change kidney disease? Many kidney disease patients with minimal change want to know about the symptoms of minimal change kidney disease.
Children aged 2 to 6 are usually found out to suffer from minimal change kidney disease while adults aged 30 to 40 are often seem to have got minimal change kidney disease. What’s more, advanced people who are more than 60 years old also have high morbidity. Among children sufferers, the morbidity of boys is twice as high as that of girls. As for adult, the ratio of man and woman is equally one to one. About one third of patients have infection in the upper respiratory tract or other infection. The most typical symptoms are obvious Nephrotic Syndrome, which takes up 90% of children Nephrotic Syndrome and 20% of adult Nephrotic Syndrome. Blood pressure is normal.
20% of patients with minimal change kidney disease have various degree of microscopic hematuria. With patients aging, the morbidity of microscopic hematuria is also increasing. Especially in those aged more than 60, due to renal interstitial fibrosis and diabetic microangiopathy, the morbidity of microscopic hematuria is high. However, gross hematuria is rarely seem. Because blood volume is low and renal perfusion decreases, about one third of patients with minimal change kidney disease have declined GFR. Through the examination of urinary sediment, cells or cast can not be found. Among those who are serious, the protein in urine is more than 40g with 24 hours.
Protein in urine is the typical highly selective one among children, which mainly includes albumin, and a slight amount of HMWP such as IgG, α2- macroglobulin, C3, etc.
Patients with minimal change kidney disease should be aware of Hodgkin's disease. In addition, nephrotic syndrome caused by allergy of steroid expectorant is also similar to minimal change kidney disease, accompanied by interstitial nephritis and renal decline.
In rare cases, acute renal failure can occur when there is no obvious low blood volume. Because hypoproteinemia leads to the decrease of colloid osmotic pressure, only 7% to 38% of patients with low blood volume have prerenal axotemia. If there is no typical hypovolemia, urine concentrating power will decline and sodium will discharge out together from urine.

Side Effects of Steroids for Kidney Disease

Steroids are widely used especially in western countries for kidney disease, which can diminish symptoms such as proteinuria, hematuria and so on, which can really relieve the sufferings. However, every coin has two sides and the same goes for steroids.
On one hand, steroids can only help diminish the symptoms for the time being and once infected or tired, etc, symptoms will appear once more, in which case, kidney disease patients have to take in larger amount of western medicine. It can not repair the damaged intrinsic cells and can not increase the immunity either. It is reported from the doctors that 80% of patients with kidney disease are caused by immune disorder or low immune.
One the other hand, long time and large dosage of steroids application can lead to acne, pimple, tough skin, failure of male hormone, less hair, increased hair in the body, and so on.
In addition, steroids can also damage skeletal muscle system and cardiovascular system, which leads to heart disease and so on.
Considering so many side effects, what measures should we take? Is there any other alternative therapy? Immunotherapy is a combination therapy which combines Chinese medicine and western medicine and has no side effects.

What Harm Does Purpura Nephritis Do?

What harm does Purpura Nephritis do? Patients with Purpura Nephritis are all concerned about the harm and the complication which followed. Actually, it is a secondary kidney disease which is due to damage caused by Purpura. It is an immunologic disease. Among those who are diagnosed with Purpura Nephritis, about one third of them have renal damage, which is more prevalent in children.
When the immunological function is normal, organism can be protected. And when the immunological function is abnormal, virus, bacteria, seafood, and medicine all can lead to allergic reaction, autoimmunity disease or immunodeficiency disease, etc, which can damage patients’ health. The combination of antigen and antibody caused by these pathogenic factors leads to the deposition of immune complex. Thus, renal fibrosis comes into being. At the same time, renal fibrosis also leads to inflammation in blood vessels, which directly leads to increased permeability of renal capillaries. In this case, hematuria occurs, which forms a typical symptom of Purpura Nephritis. This is only one damage caused by Purpura Nephritis.
So what’re the further symptoms of Purpura Nephritis and what harm will Purpura Nephritis cause?
Firstly, the rash on Purpura Nephritis patients tend to bleed, and red spots lie symmetrically, which often are located in lower limbs, ankles and knees, buttocks and upper limbs.
Secondly, the symptoms of joints for patients with Purpura Nephritis shows wondering, the suffering ones of which are often knees, ankles, hands, which is also a harm allergic Purpura Nephritis leads.
Thirdly, the stomach and guts of patients with Purpura Nephritis often show reactions such as pain in belly, which is accompanied by nausea, vomiting, and hematochezia.
Fourthly, among patients with Purpura Nephritis, those who are suffering from high blood pressure take up 20% to 40%. Blood pressure increases from mildly to moderately. Usually, high blood pressure occurs together with abnormal in urine. However, most of them recovers soon.
Generally, in the early stage, patients with Purpura Nephritis can not feel any discomfort. However, if effective treatment measures are not taken, Purpura Nephritis will develop into renal failure stage and even uremia. So once diagnosed with Purpura Nephritis, effective treatment is very important.

Pathological Mechanism of Kidney Disease

Kidney diseases in modern times are becoming more and more prevalent all around the world. In China, on average, one out of ten people have kidney disease no matter whether they are diagnosed or not. The same goes for other countries such as America and Canada.
So treating kidney disease is urgent so as to prevent the deterioration or complications, which make the effect hard to achieve. First of all, we should know how kidney disease comes into being exactly, and only in this way, can we treat kidney disease well, just as the saying goes, More preparation may quicken the speed in doing work. The pathological mechanism of kidney disease is as follows:
In normal condition, people don’t get ill for the immune system can help us defend. In normal condition, the immune complex forms, which is the combination of antibody and antigen. They are called circulating immune complex. Normally, they are in blood and flow through kidney together with blood circulation. They can also deposit onto kidney but the intrinsic immune system can discharge them out. However, when there is something wrong in immune system, the immune complex will not be discharged away, which leads to a series of excessive immune response, so the immune complex will deposit onto the kidney, thus causing kidney disease. The reason why immune complex deposits onto the kidney is that there is epitope in kidney.
On the other hand, if the immune complex comes into being with a large amount at a time, they can not be discharged out in time, which also lead to excessive immune response, thus causing kidney disease.
From the above, we can get a conclusion that to treat kidney disease, we should repair and rebuild the immune system. In our Hospital, we have brand new immunotherapy, which can be mainly divided into 6 steps.

60 years old, HbA1c7.5, Creatinine 1.3 Symptomless

One of my patients is Mr King, who has Diabetes for 22 years. His HbA1c level is 7.5 and serum creatinine level is 1.3 in the latest test report. Now he is symptoms. He is 60 years old this year. Mr King asked me what he should do now.
Firstly, HbA1c level is really a valuable index which can show how diabetes patients control their blood sugar for it can at least show the blood control of 8 to 12 weeks. In most of time, patients with diabetes should control the blood sugar, which is known to all of us. Monitoring blood sugar is very necessary as well. At present, the range for normal person is under 4 to 5.5. Patients with diabetes should control their HbA1c level under 6. If the HbA1c level is 7 to 8, it shows that it is not high. If it is 8 to 9, it indicates that patients should control it. So for Mr King, his HbA1c level is OK and he does not need to worry.
Diabetes is a kind of disease which makes the blood in a high level of sugar, so the dense blood will damage blood vessels, especially the micro-blood vessels, including micro-blood vessels in the kidney. With time passing by, there will be damage in the kidney. Serum creatinine is an index which shows the kidney function. The normal range of serum creatinine is under 1.2. So as for Mr King, his creatinien level is higher, which indicates that the kidney is damaged. We can also get a conclusion that Mr King has developed into Diabetic Nephropathy.
In the early stage of Diabetic Nephropathy, there is no symptom because of the strong compensation stage of kidney. However, if not controlled well, proteinuria will appear in the third stage of Diabetic Nephropathy.
From the above, we can get a conclusion that although there are no symptoms, Mr King should take effective measures to treat. He should not only treats diabetes but also kidney disease. He is suggested to adopt immunotherapy in our Hospital, which has treated thousand of patients and helped them recover.

How to Treat Puffy Face caused by Kidney Problems

How to treat puffy face caused by kidney problem? Puffy face is a typical and obvious symptom for patients with kidney disease. Usually, edema or swelling usually takes place in face and lower limbs for patients with kidney problems. To understand how to treat puffy face, firstly, we should know why there is puffy face or the mechanism of it, which is quite common in nephrotic syndrome patients in particular.
In kidney disease, the increased permeability of renal glomerular basilar membrane makes a large amount of protein leak out in urine, which leads to the decreased density of protein in plasma. The osmotic pressure in plasma declines, so liquid flows and edema comes into being. accordingly, puffy face appears.
How to treat puffy face caused by kidney problem? Chinese Medicine can be the priority. Due to the deposition of immune complex and other factors, the renal glomerular filtration barrier is damaged, which leads to puffy face and so on. Chinese Medicine can extend all levels of renal arteries, improve the blood circulation and blood supply, which lays foundation for the repair of renal glomerular filtration barrier. After it is repaired, the retention of water and sodium will be relieved, the edema will disappear. Puffy face will disappear accordingly.
At present, Chinese Medicine has become part of immunotherapy, which is the unique therapy and can be divided into 6 steps. Compared with western medicine, it has no side effects and can prevent the kidney disease recurring.
